I think the reason why I like Samuel x Carla so much as a couple is because I feel like Samuel is not the type of guy Carla is used to and he brings out a different side of her. Carla was usually the one in control in her relationships and Samuel challenged that. Carla’s relationship with Polo was familiar. They had been together for a very long time and she just became accustomed to the dynamic of that relationship. She was able to be in control of that relationship and she knew that Polo was devoted to her and I feel like sometimes she took advantage of that.Same goes for her relationship with Christian. Christian was just a toy for Carla that she could buy fancy things for and show him off. Again, she was the one calling all the shots and Christian just let her because he was so infatuated with her.Samuel, on the other hand, is completely different from this. Samuel challenges Carla, something she isn’t used to. Samuel never lets Carla be the one fully in control and he isn’t falling at her feet like Polo or Christian. With Samuel, Carla finally found a geniune relationship with someone who isn’t with her for her money or just because they’ve known her for a while. Samuel brings out real and raw emotion from Carla. And in a way I think he makes Carla not want to be heartless and stone-cold anymore. I mean he was the one that got her to confess about the murder when she thought he was dead. I just think their relationship could become one of the best on the show.
